Job summary

THOR Solutions, LLC in San Diego, CA, is seeking an Engineering Technician VI with Navy shipboard experience to provide full-time support for U.S. Naval equipment at SWRMC. The role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, and training Ship's Force to enhance fleet readiness.

The position requires an existing SECRET clearance, U.S. citizenship, and up to 10% travel. Pay is $48.13/hour plus health and welfare benefits; contract contingent on award, anticipated February 2027.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least ten years of hands-on operation, repair, maintenance and assessment of naval auxiliary equipment in the last 15 years.
• Must have an existing active/interim Secret security clearance prior to hire; U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience with firefighting, pollution abatement, and related shipboard systems.
• Ability to use computers and MS Office for reports and history files.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-time onsite support and surge support for Code 251 equipment.
• Conduct fleet technical assistance, evaluations, testing, troubleshooting and repairs.
• Perform inspections and assessments; witness equipment operation with ship's force.
• Provide Onboard Maintenance Training to Ship's Force on firefighting, damage control, and related systems.
• Analyze inspection data to identify faults and recommend corrective actions.
• Report findings to Team Leader within two working days of task completion.
