Job summary

THOR Solutions is seeking an Engineering Technician V (Diesels) to provide full-time, onsite support for U.S. Naval shipboard auxiliary equipment at SWRMC in San Diego, CA.

The role involves troubleshooting, inspections, OBMT, and direct service to the Navy Pacific Fleet aboard ships and at facilities. Applicant must have a high school diploma/GED and 3–5 years of relevant Diesel Engine experience, plus the ability to use MS Office and communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED equivalent.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience operating, repairing, maintaining and assessing U.S. Naval Diesel Engines and support systems.
• Ability to utilize computers including the Microsoft Office Suite for reports and history files; transfer and label digital pictures.

Responsibilities

• Provide Full-Time Onsite Support and Surge Support for Code 264 equipment.
• Perform Diesel Engine Inspections and FPAs per Navy references and handbooks.
• Conduct assessments and inspections; witness operations; collect data for evaluation and repairs within time constraints.
• Provide Onboard Maintenance Training (OBMT) to Ship's Force technicians and support TSRA/INSURV events.
• Analyze inspection data, identify faults, and recommend repairs or replacements.
