Job summary

DC Public Schools (DCPS) is seeking a full-time ServiceNow Senior Application Developer to support the development, administration, and ongoing enhancement of the district’s ServiceNow platform within the Office of Data & Technology.

This role will play a critical hands-on role in configuring, maintaining, and evolving ServiceNow to support district-wide business processes across multiple modules, including ITSM, HRSD, S2P, and other modules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years hands-on ServiceNow administration experience.
• Ownership or co-ownership of a ServiceNow instance.
• Strong knowledge of Forms, lists, tables, and dictionary configuration.
• Proficiency in JavaScript for ServiceNow scripting.
• Experience with REST/SOAP API integrations.
• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent ITSM knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary administrator for the DCPS ServiceNow instance.
• Configure and maintain ServiceNow applications: forms, lists, workflows, notifications, and reporting.
• Support development across ITSM, HRSD, S2P, and other modules.
• Design and maintain Service Catalog items and end-to-end workflows with Flow Designer.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate into technical solutions.
• Coordinate with OCTO for development, changes, and support.
• Ensure best practices and upgrade readiness.
• Troubleshoot issues and improve processes through analysis and refinement.
• Develop technical documentation and user guidance.
• Partner with IT teams, vendors, and ServiceNow partners.
