DC Public Schools seeks a ServiceNow Senior Application Developer to administer and enhance the district’s ServiceNow platform within the Office of Data & Technology. The role covers configuration, maintenance, and evolution across ITSM, HRSD, S2P, ITAM, and other modules to support district‑wide processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Five or more years of hands‑on ServiceNow administration experience.
• Ownership or co‑ownership of a ServiceNow instance.
• Strong knowledge of the ServiceNow platform: forms, lists, tables, and dictionary configuration.
• Experience with REST/SOAP API integrations.
• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent ITSM knowledge.
• Experience across ITSM, HRSD, S2P, CSM, or SecOps.
• Experience building integrations using REST APIs, Integration Hub, and data imports.
• Experience in public sector, K‑12, education, or regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary administrator for the DCPS ServiceNow instance and handle day‑to‑day operations.
• Configure and maintain ServiceNow applications: forms, lists, workflows, notifications and reporting.
• Support development across ITSM, HRSD, S2P, and other modules.
• Design and maintain Service Catalog items and end‑to‑end workflows using Flow Designer.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Coordinate with OCTO for development, changes and support.
• Ensure configurations follow best practices and upgrade readiness.
• Troubleshoot platform issues and improve existing processes.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation.
• Partner with IT teams, vendors, and ServiceNow partners as appropriate.
