Job summary

DC Government is seeking a Sr. ServiceNow Developer to serve as a hands-on administrator for the DCPS ServiceNow instance. You will configure, maintain, and evolve ServiceNow across multiple modules to support district-wide business processes and non-technical stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities include designing catalogs and workflows, collaborating with OCTO, and ensuring upgrade readiness. Strong scripting, API integration, and ITSM knowledge are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in IT or CS.
• 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow administration.
• Ownership or co-ownership of a ServiceNow instance.
• Strong knowledge of forms, lists, tables, dictionary configuration, and rules.
• Proficiency in JavaScript for ServiceNow scripting (business rules, client scripts, UI policies).
• Experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems via REST/SOAP APIs.
• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent ITSM knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary administrator for the DCPS ServiceNow instance, supporting day-to-day operations.
• Configure and maintain ServiceNow applications, including forms, lists, workflows, notifications and reporting.
• Support development across ITSM, HRSD, S2P, and other modules.
• Design and maintain Service Catalog items and end-to-end workflows using Flow Designer and approvals.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions.
• Coordinate with OCTO for development, changes and support.
• Ensure configurations follow best practices and upgrade readiness.
• Troubleshoot platform issues and support continuous improvement of processes.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation including configuration details and user guidance.
• Partner with IT teams, vendors, and ServiceNow partners as appropriate.
