Job summary

State Farm is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to build enterprise-grade ServiceNow capabilities. You will partner with product teams, stakeholders, and engineers to design, develop, test, and support ServiceNow solutions—owning delivery quality and contributing to platform excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience developing on ServiceNow (or similar enterprise platforms).
• Strong object-oriented design and software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs (experience with ServiceNow GlideAPIs is a bonus).
• Familiarity with JavaScript, web technologies, and workflow automation. Experience working with XML and JSON for data exchange formats.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and identify root causes.
• Analytical problem-solving skills, clear communication, and strong collaboration with technical and business partners.
• Customer-focused mindset and dependable execution in delivery and operational support.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and maintain ServiceNow applications, workflows, and user experiences
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions with measurable impact
• Build workflows, business rules, and automations that improve operational efficiency and reliability
• Develop and maintain REST APIs and enterprise integrations; build and consume APIs to support end-to-end integration needs
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and release readiness activities to ensure delivery quality and post-release stability
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform and integration issues, identifying root cause and implementing durable fixes
• Contribute to Agile delivery and modern engineering practices, including CI/CD where applicable
• Recommend enhancements to improve performance, reliability, and user experience
• Help shape reusable engineering patterns, standards, and modernization practices across the ServiceNow platform
• Collaborate with architects, security, product, and engineering teams to drive scalable and supportable solutions
