Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior ServiceNow developer to design, build, and deploy a bi-directional integration between ServiceNow and Jira. You will create scalable, secure connectors and expand custom ServiceNow apps on the Now Platform.

The role requires CAD certification, 5+ years development, 2+ years ServiceNow experience, and Jira/GitHub proficiency. Fully remote within the United States; core hours 8 AM–5 PM ET.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, CS, systems, business or related field; 15+ years of work exp, 10 years may substitute for education.
• 5+ years of development experience.
• 2+ years experience in ServiceNow and the Now Platform - ITSM, App Engine and/or Integration Hub.
• Ability to design, discuss, and document system strategies for platforms, apps, and networks.
• Experience writing both unit and end-to-end automated tests.
• Proficient with Jira and GitHub.
• ServiceNow CAD certification and hands-on experience building custom applications on the Now Platform.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript, Glide APIs, Flow Designer, and IntegrationHub.
• Experience with REST/SOAP integrations, webhook frameworks, authentication models, and cross-platform data mapping.
• Familiarity with Jira’s project structure, issue data models, workflows, and service account configurations.
• Ability to design scalable integration architectures that meet enterprise security, governance, and SDLC standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy a bi-directional integration between ServiceNow and Jira.
• Develop, maintain and expand a set of custom-developed ServiceNow applications utilizing the Now Platform.
• Develop front and back-end components connected to a blended technology stack and interconnect ServiceNow with legacy systems.
• Rapidly deliver lightweight back-end services and front-end public-facing web stack.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot production application issues.
• Promote and drive innovation in technologies, processes, and tools.
• Work with Product Owners and Scrum Teams in requirements decomposition, backlog refinement, and break down of user stories.
• Interact with stakeholders in support of the Product Owner.
• Use unit and integration testing to ensure systems are defect free.
• Interface with internal and Government management personnel.
