Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior ServiceNow developer to design and deploy a bi-directional integration between ServiceNow and Jira for the VA. The role emphasizes building scalable connectors, validating ITSM processes, and integrating with Now Platform.

The candidate should possess CAD certification, strong JavaScript skills, and experience with Integration Hub, Flow Designer, REST/SOAP, and Jira/GitHub. This is a fully remote US position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related discipline; 15+ years experience (10 years can substitute).
• 5+ years of development experience.
• 2+ years experience in ServiceNow and the Now Platform - ITSM, App Engine and/or Integration Hub.
• Ability to design and document system strategies for platforms, apps, and networks.
• Experience writing unit and end-to-end automated tests.
• Proficient with Jira and GitHub.
• ServiceNow CAD certification and hands-on experience building custom apps on the Now Platform.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript, Glide APIs, Flow Designer, and IntegrationHub.
• Experience with REST/SOAP integrations, webhook frameworks, and cross-platform data mapping.
• Familiarity with Jira project structure, data models, workflows, and service accounts.
• Ability to design scalable integration architectures meeting security and SDLC standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy a bi-directional integration between ServiceNow and Jira.
• Develop, maintain and expand custom ServiceNow applications on the Now Platform.
• Create front- and back-end components and connect to legacy systems.
• Deliver lightweight back-end services and front-end web stack.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot production issues.
• Promote and drive innovation in technologies, processes, and tools.
• Work with Product Owners and Scrum Teams on requirements, backlog, and user stories.
• Interface with stakeholders in support of the Product Owner.
• Use unit and integration testing to ensure the system is defect free.
• Interface with internal and Government management personnel.
