Job summary

N.C. Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) seeks a Systems Administrator II to administer, configure, and enhance the ServiceNow platform to support enterprise-wide operations and digital transformation initiatives.

The role requires hands-on ServiceNow experience and collaboration with business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable solutions. The team focuses on ITSM, workflows, and integrations, with the possibility of hybrid remote work and weekly onsite requirements as defined by

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field and three years of progressive experience in systems software programming.
• Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field and four years of progressive experience in systems software programming.
• ServiceNow CSA certification and/or related micro-certifications in application development, ITSM, or platform administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, maintain, and enhance the ServiceNow platform, ensuring stability, performance, security, and alignment with agency requirements.
• Develop, configure, and maintain workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, forms, and custom applications.
• Support ServiceNow ITSM, Employee Workflows, Customer Workflows, and other enterprise workflows across the organization.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate operational needs into effective ServiceNow solutions.
• Develop and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems using REST APIs and IntegrationHub; troubleshoot complex platform issues and implement corrective actions.
• Manage platform enhancements, upgrades, patches, update sets, deployments, and testing following change management practices.
• Implement and maintain platform security controls, data integrity standards, and technical documentation.
• Evaluate emerging ServiceNow capabilities, including automation and AI, to identify opportunities for modernization and improved experiences.
