Estes Express in Orange, CA is seeking a logistics clerk to support dispatch operations. You will create freight manifests, assign drivers, and monitor pickups and deliveries according to service standards.

The role involves tracking, tracing, billing, and coordinating with service centers and Line Haul teams. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Competenze

• General knowledge of customer care, OS&D, billing, tracing, and dispatching.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel; AS400 experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work within deadlines and company guidelines.

Mansioni

• Create freight manifest list using applicable coding.
• Assist dispatcher with assigning pick-up and delivery drivers for local and road activities.
• Maintain city dispatch sheet and advise drivers on problems encountered in pick up and delivery of freight.
• Assist dispatcher with city dispatch when needed.
• Schedule, track, trace, and bill freight.
• Coordinate Line Haul drivers via computer and phone with Service Centers to move freight timely.
• Interact with Line Haul Supervisor, Operations Planner, Service Center personnel, VP of Operations, Breakdown Coordinators, and Line Haul Drivers.
• Assist with Line Haul activities and planning dispatches to meet cost and service goals.
• Maintain count lists of items received or shipped and verify against bill of lading.
• Investigate and resolve overages, shortages and damaged freight including Hazmat.
• Prepare paperwork and repack OS&D freight as required.
• Maintain OS&D records and report issues to service center management.
• Keep OS&D area clean and organized.
• Provide guidance and training to less experienced staff.
• Set up and maintain employee files, payroll records, and onboarding paperwork.
• Coordinate payroll changes and collect new hire information.
• Conduct new employee orientation and collect payroll paperwork.
• Maintain regular attendance.
