Job summary

Estes Express in California seeks a Logistics Dispatcher Clerk to support local and line haul operations. You will assist with dispatching drivers, scheduling, tracking freight, and coordinating with service centers to move freight efficiently within our service standards.

The role requires strong attention to detail, ability to work under tight deadlines, and solid MS Word/Excel skills; AS400 experience is a plus. Regular attendance and the ability to lift up to 20 lbs are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Knowledgeable in all functional areas (customer care, OS&D, billing, pricing, tracing, dispatching, weights and inspection, etc.).
• Computer skills; proficient in MS Word and Excel required.
• AS400 experience strongly preferred.
• Strong customer services skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team setting; handle high volume with deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Create freight manifest list using applicable coding.
• Assist dispatcher with assigning pick-up and delivery drivers for local and road activities.
• Maintain city dispatch sheet and advise drivers concerning problems in freight pickup/delivery.
• Assist with planning dispatches to meet cost and service goals.
• Coordinate Line Haul drivers via computer system and phone with Service Centers.
• Interact with Line Haul Supervisor, Operations Planner, Service Center personnel, and others to move freight timely.
• May assist with Line Haul activities and OS&D reporting and documentation.
• Maintain accurate records for payroll and OS&D issues as required.
• Regular attendance is required.
