Job summary

Field AI’s Hardware Team seeks a Sensor Systems Engineer to design, integrate, calibrate, and validate sensing systems for autonomous robotics. You will work with LiDAR, depth cameras, IMUs, GPS, and more, ensuring synchronized, accurate data across environments.

You will collaborate with autonomy, compute, electrical, and mechanical teams to deliver field-ready solutions, while advancing calibration, testing, and system reliability in real-world deployments.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Physics, or related field.
• Hands-on sensors experience with LiDARs, depth cameras, IMUs, GPS.
• Experience with ROS/ROS2, sensor drivers, coordinate transforms (TF).
• Calibration, alignment rigs, and sensor characterization in real-world conditions.
• Cross-functional collaboration across electrical, mechanical, and software teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, integration, calibration, and validation of sensing systems for autonomy stack.
• Collaborate with autonomy, compute, electrical, and mechanical teams.
• Develop timing, synchronization, and latency minimization strategies.
• Produce documentation, test plans, and configuration management artifacts.
