Job summary
FieldAI is seeking a Sensor Systems Engineer to design, integrate, calibrate, and validate sensing systems on wheeled robotic platforms for federal and commercial programs. You will align hardware and software, ensure time-synchronized data, and collaborate with autonomy, compute, electrical, and mechanical teams to ship robust field-ready sensor solutions.
The ideal candidate has hands-on perception sensors experience, calibration expertise, and strong knowledge of ROS/ROS2, timing protocols,
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or related field.
- Hands-on sensors experience with LiDAR, depth cameras, IMUs, GPS.
- Experience with perception sensors and sensor integration across hardware/software domains.
Responsibilities
- Design, integration, calibration, and validation of sensing and compute systems for autonomy stack.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software teams to deliver field-ready sensor solutions.
- Produce timing diagrams, sensor maps, coordinate transforms, and maintain configuration and driver references.
