Job summary

Humble Robotics seeks a seasoned sensor and systems engineer to own sensor requirements for autonomous trucks and to drive placement, validation, and performance analysis. You will define what good looks like for cameras, lidars, radars, microphones, IMUs, and GNSS, and prove it in lab and field tests.

You will work as a systems, hardware, and data engineer to ensure the autonomy stack receives high-quality sensor data for training, modeling, simulation, and real driving.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 3+ years hands-on sensor and engineering experience.
• Test automation, scripting, and data analysis experience.
• Field of view and coverage analysis on vehicle sensors.
• Fluent in Python for test automation and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Define sensor requirements tied to autonomy and safety needs.
• Run field of view, coverage, and occlusion studies to guide sensor placement.
• Characterize camera, lidar, radar, microphone, IMU, and GNSS sensors.
• Own sensor commissioning, diagnostics, and improvements for repeatability.
• Design test benches and measurement setups for validation.
• Support data collection and analysis for bench and on-vehicle tests.
