Job summary

Torc Robotics, Inc. is seeking a senior ML engineer to design, develop, and deploy production perception models for autonomous trucks.

You will own end-to-end model development from data preparation through evaluation and deployment, and collaborate with software, infrastructure, and autonomy teams to integrate models into production systems. You will mentor junior engineers, work with large-scale datasets, and apply deep learning architectures for camera-based and 3D perception.

Qualifications

• Experience building production ML models for computer vision, perception, robotics, or autonomous systems.
• Strong Python and PyTorch coding skills for production ML.
• Experience training, evaluating, and improving deep learning models with large datasets.
• Experience with image-based and/or 3D perception systems.
• Understanding of DL architectures used in perception applications.
• Ability to debug model behavior and improve reliability.
• Translate perception challenges into practical ML solutions and deliver results independently.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate ML into larger software systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy production machine learning models supporting Torc's perception systems.
• Own end-to-end model development from data preparation and training through evaluation and deployment.
• Write production-quality ML code to support scalable training, evaluation, and inference workflows.
• Analyze model performance, identify failure modes, and iterate to improve robustness and generalization.
• Develop and optimize perception models leveraging multi-modal sensor data (camera-based and 3D).
• Collaborate with software engineers, infrastructure teams, and autonomy engineers to integrate models into production software.
• Support improvements to training pipelines, data workflows, and tooling to accelerate iteration.
• Contribute to model architecture discussions and technical decisions.
• Mentor junior engineers on implementation, experimentation, and ML best practices.
