Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Sensor Systems Engineer to advance multi-modality sensor design for autonomous driving programs. You will execute system-level trade studies and develop detailed sensor performance specs while collaborating with simulation, vehicle integration, perception, and validation teams.

This role requires a BS in engineering, 5+ years of sensor experience, strong data analysis skills (Matlab/Python), and the ability to document decisions and drive continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, CS, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience with sensors
• Experience supporting sensor analysis, integration, and cross-domain initiatives
• Technical depth in signal processing, data analysis, or ML in sensing modalities
• Understanding of self-driving challenges and sensor needs
• Demonstrated ability to contribute across teams
• Experience with Matlab or Python for data analysis and tooling

Responsibilities

• Execute system-level trade studies for multi-modality sensor designs.
• Develop detailed performance specs for sensors.
• Assess performance against product needs to quantify risk and drive improvement.
• Collaborate with simulation, vehicle integration, perception, localization, and validation teams.
