Job summary

Delve Underground seeks a seasoned Lead Business Development Manager to head and grow the Seller-Doer coaching operation, building a team of coaches and shaping the coaching program to improve client development and win work.

The role collaborates with the Director of Growth, Chief Strategy Officer, and Market Leads to drive the firm’s major pursuit investments and outcomes, while modeling elite coaching and adding strategic value to mega pursuits.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in AEC business development, marketing, or pursuit strategy.
• Proven track record in coaching, mentoring, or team leadership.
• Deep knowledge of the AEC pursuit cycle and go/no-go strategy.
• Experience in underground, transportation, or heavy civil markets preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, communications, marketing, business, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Set coaching standards, portfolio sizing, and curriculum for the Seller-Doer coaching team.
• Lead and manage the Seller-Doer coaching team including senior and junior coaches.
• Co-lead training programs and drive pursuit strategies for mega projects.
• Maintain coaching templates and playbooks for consistent delivery.
• Mentor direct reports with documented career development plans.
• Coordinate with Proposal team on timelines and interview prep.
• Report coaching metrics to the Director of Growth.
