Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced estimator to prepare detailed SPO drywall estimates from construction drawings and specifications, and to communicate bids and scopes of work on projects across the United States. This role supports the Preconstruction team and requires strong collaboration with design and procurement groups.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience performing detailed estimates for drywall and related trades.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specs and schedules.
• Proficient with takeoffs, estimating software, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed SPO drywall estimates from drawings and specs.
• Generate labor productivity rates using historical data.
• Develop vendor relationships for competitive pricing.
• Prepare drywall bids for Lump Sum, GMP, or Cost Plus contracts.
• Identify design issues and project risks with Preconstruction team.
• Analyze project schedules for sequencing risk and labor loading.
• Collaborate with SPO Manager to include markups and rates.
• Lead document management and stakeholder distribution.
• Attend constructability reviews and document potential issues.
• Develop value analysis studies for cost-efficient alternatives.
• Prepare scope requisitions and coordinate to avoid gaps.
• Evaluate subcontractor proposals and contribute to bid reviews.
• Support procurement with bid awards recommendations.
• Manage kickoff meetings and handoffs to operations.
• May supervise Estimating staff and participate in recruiting.
• Other duties as assigned.
