Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced SPO drywall estimator to prepare detailed self-perform drywall estimates from drawings and specs, communicate bids and scope, and lead bid development.

The role collaborates with the Preconstruction team, procurement, and project operations; requires 3+ years of estimating in drywall and related trades; occasional travel; on-site work at construction sites.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of detailed estimates for drywall, framing, ceilings and doors/hardware
• Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specs and project schedule
• Knowledge of estimating documents and quantitative/qualitative analysis
• Strong project management and communication skills
• Willingness to travel as needed

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed SPO drywall estimates including take-offs, analysis, estimates input and studies
• Generate labor productivity rates using historical data and project constraints
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships for competitive pricing
• Prepare and assemble drywall bids for Lump Sum, GMP, and Cost Plus
• Identify design issues and risks with Preconstruction and propose solutions
• Analyze schedules for sequencing risk and create labor-loaded schedules
• Collaborate with SPO Manager on markups, labor rates and project inputs
• Lead document management for SPO drywall projects and distribute to stakeholders
• Attend constructability reviews and flag potential issues
• Develop cost-saving SPO drywall value analysis studies
• Understand contract documents, site logistics, schedule, and means/methods
• Prepare scope requisitions and eliminate gaps/overlaps
• Prepare comparison analyses to previous estimates
• Evaluate trade proposals for subcontracted drywall work and participate in post-bid reviews
• Manage post-bid items and support procurement for bid awards
• Prepare project kickoff and handoff to operations
• May supervise estimating staff and participate in recruiting
• Other duties as assigned
