Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced estimator to prepare detailed Self-Perform Operations drywall estimates based on drawings and specs. You will generate labor productivity rates, develop vendor relationships for competitive pricing, and assemble bids for various contract types.

The role requires 3+ years of drywall estimating experience, a related bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of detailed drywall estimating experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, and trade practices
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
• Proficient with estimating documents and quantitative analysis

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed SPO drywall estimates from drawings and specs and complete quantity take-offs
• Generate labor productivity rates with historical data and project constraints
• Develop vendor relationships for competitive pricing
• Prepare and assemble drywall bids for Lump Sum, GMP, and Cost Plus
• Identify design issues and project risks and propose solutions with Preconstruction team
• Analyze SPO drywall schedules for sequencing risk and prepare labor-loaded schedules
• Collaborate with SPO Manager on markups, labor rates and related info in estimates
• Lead document management for SPO drywall projects and distribute drawings to stakeholders
• Attend constructability review meetings and document potential issues with trades
• Develop SPO drywall value analysis studies and cost-efficient alternatives
• Understand trade package scope including docs, site logistics, schedule, means and methods
• Prepare drywall scope requisitions and coordinate to eliminate gaps and overlaps
• Prepare comparison analysis to previous estimates
• Evaluate trade proposals for subcontracted drywall and document in Bid Recording Sheet
• Manage Post Bid actions and assist Procurement with awards
• Prepare project kickoff and hand off to project operations
• May supervise Estimating team and participate in recruiting
• Other duties as assigned
