Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced estimator to prepare detailed Self-Perform Operations (SPO) drywall estimates from drawings and specs, and to communicate bids and scopes of work. You will generate labor rates, manage vendor pricing, and assemble bids for various contract types.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of related estimating experience, a relevant engineering/construction degree, and strong knowledge of construction processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Building Construction, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions and trade practices.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules.
• Knowledge of estimating documents and ability to provide qualitative and quantitative analysis of documents.
• Proficient with computer-based takeoff and estimating software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed Self-Perform Operations (SPO) drywall estimates including quantity take-offs, analyses, input, and studies for items in the assigned scope.
• Generate labor productivity rates using historical data and project constraints.
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships to solicit competitive pricing.
• Prepare and assemble drywall bids and proposals for Lump Sum, GMP, Cost Plus contracts.
• Identify design issues and project risks and propose solutions with Preconstruction team.
• Analyze SPO drywall project schedules for sequencing risk and prepare labor-loaded schedules.
