Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Engineer in the United States. You will lead projects for federal and public clients, evaluating remediation technologies and developing designs for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, and port settings.

The role requires PE licensure, about 7 years of related experience, travel up to 10%, and strong communication skills to coordinate with clients and internal staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering; PE license required.
• At least 7 years of related experience; travel may be required.
• Experience leading teams on sediment remediation projects for federal and public clients.
• Strong knowledge of sediment transport, site assessment, cap modeling and dredge methods.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and ability to liaise with clients and outside consultants.

Responsibilities

• Provide feasibility evaluations and designs for sediment remediation in riverine, coastal, and port settings.
• Understand regulatory processes (CERCLA, GLLA, and other regulatory steps) and implement remedial-action design/construction.
• Support statistical evaluations of environmental data.
• Serve as task manager, develop technical strategy, and coordinate with CDM Smith subject matter experts.
• Lead staff in preparing technically sound documents compliant with regulations and policy.
• Act as liaison with clients, public, and outside consultants.
