Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Engineer to lead projects involving riverine, coastal and port settings. You will manage teams of engineers and scientists, evaluating remediation technologies and guiding designs for complex sediment sites.

The role requires a PE license, 7 years of related experience, and ability to coordinate with federal and public clients. Travel up to 10% may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineer (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise evaluating feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and designing sediment remediation for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, and port sites.
• Understand principles of sediment and contaminant transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches, remedial action design and construction.
• Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager on sediment sites, communicating technical strategy to clients and SMEs.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of CERCLA, GLLA, and other regulatory steps at contaminated sediment sites.
• Act as a technical liaison with clients, public, and outside consultants.
• Lead staff in preparing and reviewing technical information to ensure regulatory compliance.
