Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Engineer to lead projects for federal and public sector clients, with emphasis on riverine, coastal, and port settings.

You will manage multidisciplinary teams, apply CERCLA and related regulatory knowledge, and communicate technical concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders while supporting design and field activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional engineering (PE) license.
  • 7 years of related experience.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise evaluating sediment remediation technologies and design for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, or port sites.
  • Understand sediment/ contaminant transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches, remedial design and construction.
  • Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
  • Serve as task manager on sediment projects, communicating technical strategy to clients.
  • Liaise with clients, the public, and outside consultants; translate complex analyses for non-specialists.
  • Lead staff in preparing and reviewing technical information to meet regulations and policies.
