Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Engineer to lead projects for Federal and Public sector clients, bringing expertise in sediment remediation technologies, cap modeling, dredge approaches and remedial design. You will manage teams, coordinate with SMEs, and communicate complex evaluations to clients.

The role requires a PE license or eligibility, 7 years of related experience, and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline is required.
• Professional engineering (PE) license is required or candidate must be eligible for PE licensure.
• 7 years of related experience; domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and design sediment remediation for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, and port sites with multiple stakeholders.
• Understand sediment and contaminant transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches, remedial design/construction.
• Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager on sediment sites, communicating technical strategy to clients and coordinating SME input.
• Lead staff in preparing and reviewing technical information to meet regulations and policy.
• Liaise with clients, public, and outside consultants to communicate complex evaluations and designs.
