Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Security Technician in the Norfolk area. You will troubleshoot intrusion, IP CCTV, access control and fire alarm systems across major manufacturers, inform customers of next steps, and ensure full system functionality after repairs.

You will inspect equipment, communicate clearly with customers, and document results. A valid license, background checks, and 2 years in the field are required for this role.

Qualifications

• 2 years in low-voltage or security industry.
• Excellent general knowledge of major security platforms.
• Experience with Bosch/Radionics, Honeywell, Firelite, Silent Knight, DMP, DSC, etc.
• Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
• Readjust equipment, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.
• Coordinate inspections with police, fire departments, or other agencies.
• Repair and/or inspect intrusion, IP CCTV, access control and fire alarms.
• Assist fellow technicians with repairs and minor battery replacements.
• Test operation of system to the monitoring center and establish service connectivity.
• Complete forms accurately and prepare customer paperwork.
