Job summary

M.C. Dean is hiring a Superintendent I to lead complex security and electronic systems projects. You will guide multi-disciplinary teams through design, procurement, installation, and commissioning, ensuring schedule fidelity, cost control, and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive field experience with access control and video systems, and a willingness to work nights/weekends as needed. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 10+ years of experience.
• At least ten years of progressive experience in installation, integration, and testing of electronic security projects valued at more than $500k.
• Experience in the Security Industry.
• At least two years' experience managing security projects as a Project Manager, Superintendent, or Project Foreman.
• Experience installing conduit and wiring systems.
• Experience with head end programming and testing of Access Control and Video Management Systems.
• Common knowledge of basic Network Infrastructure.
• Experience overseeing monthly job cost updates, productivity reports, and quarterly cash flow projections; CPM scheduling.
• Must have history of completing projects under the estimated hours.
• Requires flexible schedule including occasional nights and weekends.
• Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with scheduling, documentation, and quality control processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all phases of construction projects from inception to completion.
• Coordinate safety plans and develop 12+ week look-ahead schedules.
• Review design documentation for constructability and perform quantity take-offs.
• Manage material and labor forecasts and weekly resource allocations.
• Support logistics planning and track project metrics.
• Obtain permits, licenses, and inspections before work begins.
• Direct crews, monitor hours, and determine labor needs.
• Coordinate with HR on staffing and conduct interviews as needed.
• Attend/lead weekly resource meetings and maintain an accurate org chart.
• Complete project documentation per standards (Change Orders, RFIs, Daily Reports).
• Collaborate with engineers on prefab plans and pre-fabrication processes.
• Adhere to safety procedures and lead ORM and incident reporting.
