Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking a highly technical security researcher to analyze in-the-wild exploits and contribute to threat intelligence. This role focuses on reverse engineering, exploitation techniques, and malware analysis in a defensive TAC capacity.

The position emphasizes collaboration across teams, high-quality threat reporting, and the development of automation to improve exploit analysis and mitigation capabilities. Remote with travel is available.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in exploitation techniques commonly seen in userspace and kernel exploits.
• Knowledge of common network service exploitation techniques.
• Solid understanding of at least two OS platforms, including Windows.
• Familiarity with standard web-based exploitation vectors.
• Collaborative mindset and clear communication with teammates.
• Proficiency with reverse engineering tools and processes (unpacking malware, reconstructing code).
• Knowledge of Python for scripting and tooling.
• Ability to leverage AI-assisted tools to speed vulnerability research and validate findings.
• Excellent writing skills are mandatory.
• Bonus: experience in attribution or intelligence writing.

Responsibilities

• Implement tracking systems for adversary tracking based on exploitation behavior.
• Improve capabilities to detect exploits, payloads, and attack vectors.
• Increase visibility of threats using new data sources.
• Maintain understanding of exploit internals through reverse engineering.
• Develop tools to automate exploit analysis tasks.
• Create a classification framework for intrusion activity based on vulnerabilities used.
• Contribute to active mitigation with technical expertise.
• Develop host- and network-based signatures for large-scale hunting and prevention.
