Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking a security researcher for its Intelligence group to analyze in-the-wild exploits and document exploitation techniques in a defensive TAC role. You will reverse engineer, track adversary behavior, and develop automation tools to support large-scale threat hunting and mitigation.

The position emphasizes collaboration across teams, high-quality threat intelligence reporting, and the use of AI-assisted methods to accelerate vulnerability research. Remote with travel is common.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in exploitation techniques commonly seen in exploits for userspace and kernel-level vulnerabilities.
• Knowledge of common network service exploitation techniques.
• Solid understanding of at least two operating system platforms, including Microsoft Windows.
• Familiarity with standard web-based exploitation vectors.
• Collaborative mindset and team player capability.
• Proficient in reverse engineering tools and processes (unpacking, reconstructing logic).
• Programming/scripting in Python.
• Ability to leverage LLMs and AI tools to accelerate vulnerability research and exploit analysis.
• Proven experience using AI to improve decision-making and workflows.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement tracking systems informed by observed exploitation behavior.
• Improve detection of exploits, malicious payloads and attack vectors.
• Identify opportunities to increase threat visibility using new data sources.
• Maintain understanding of exploit internals via reverse engineering.
• Develop tools to automate exploit analysis tasks.
• Create classification frameworks for intrusion activity based on vulnerabilities.
• Contribute to mitigation efforts with technical expertise.
• Develop host- and network-based signatures for large-scale detection.
