Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking a security researcher to analyze exploits observed in the wild as part of the Technical Analysis Cell. You will reverse engineer exploitation techniques, track adversary behavior, and develop automation tools to accelerate vulnerability research.

The role emphasizes writing high-quality threat intelligence and collaborating across CrowdStrike Intelligence and product teams to mitigate campaigns and improve detection capabilities. Remote with occasional travel is possible.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in exploitation techniques seen in userspace and kernel vulnerabilities.
• Knowledge of common network service exploitation techniques.
• Strong understanding of at least two OS platforms, including Windows.
• Familiarity with web-based exploitation vectors.
• Collaborative mindset and strong teamwork.
• Proficient with reverse engineering tools and processes.
• Strong Python scripting skills.
• Ability to leverage AI/LLMs to accelerate research and validate findings.
• Clear and effective technical writing.
• Experience applying AI to improve decision-making and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop tracking systems for cross-team adversary tracking based on exploitation behavior.
• Improve detection of exploits, payloads, and attack vectors.
• Identify opportunities to increase threat visibility using new data sources.
• Reverse engineer exploits to understand inner workings.
• Develop tools to automate exploit analysis within analysis frameworks.
• Create classification for intrusion activity based on vulnerabilities and exploit characteristics.
• Contribute to active mitigation efforts with technical expertise.
• Develop host- and network-based signatures for large-scale hunting, detection and prevention.
• Produce high-quality threat intelligence reports with actionable guidance.
• Brief diverse audiences on complex analysis results.
