Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Senior Director of Security Operations to head day-to-day SOC functions, drive incident response and improve detection capabilities across Pearson’s environments. You will refine SOC processes, automate workflows, and partner with internal and external teams to uphold security standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include leading 24x7 coverage, developing detection playbooks, and delivering executive-level risk metrics while maintaining strong stakeholder

Qualifications

• Experience in security operations and incident response in regulated environments or government clients.
• Hands-on with SOAR, EDR, NDR and SIEM technologies.
• Experience with one or more Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Ability to translate technical risk for non-technical audiences and manage stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive advanced SOC operations, incident detection, triage, containment and root cause analysis.
• Develop, implement and optimize detection logic, playbooks and automated response workflows.
• Continuously assess and enhance SOC processes and procedures, aligning with threat landscapes.
• Engage stakeholders and provide executive-level reporting, risk assessments and metrics.
• Ensure compliance with standards and internal Pearson policies.
• Collaborate with threat intelligence teams to integrate TTPs into SOC operations.
