Job summary

Pearson seeks a Senior Director of Security Operations to lead the Security Operations Center, drive continuous improvement, and advance detection engineering across Pearson environments. You will oversee incident response, automation, and cross-team collaboration to safeguard critical assets and ensure regulatory compliance.

Role requires leading advanced SOC operations, developing playbooks, and delivering executive-level reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience leading security operations or SOC teams in regulated environments or government contracts.
• Proven expertise in incident response, detection engineering, and automation.
• Hands-on with SOAR, EDR, NDR, SIEM; cloud familiarity (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day SOC operations, including incident detection, triage, containment and root-cause analysis.
• Develop detection logic, playbooks, and automated response workflows to reduce MTTC.
• Continuously improve SOC processes; align with Pearson standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with threat intel and other teams to incorporate TTPs into operations.
• Provide executive-level reporting, risk assessments, and metrics.
