Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Software Developer in Test (SDET) for a remote position with Veterans Affairs (VA) as the department. The role requires extensive programming skills in C#, Java, or Python, and experience in both manual and automated testing within an Agile SDLC framework.

Applicants should be adept at designing and executing test plans, scripts, and data sets, while collaborating with Test Managers, Project Managers, and Development Leads.

Qualifications

• Must have strong programming skills in C#, Java, or Python.
• Experience with manual and automated testing.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and SDLC.
• Proficiency in writing and executing test cases, test scripts, and test plans.
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools (Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, QTP, LoadRunner).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git, Subversion).
• Understanding of performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
• Experience with defect tracking and management tools (JIRA, Bugzilla).
• Knowledge of database and SQL for validating stored data.
• Experience in testing web applications, APIs, and services.
• Understanding of security testing practices and tools.
• Experience with different types of testing (functional, regression, integration, system, usability, UAT).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsabilités

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and procedures to ensure information systems meet standards.
• Develop test plans, schedules, and approaches.
• Write test cases and scripts and identify data for test scenarios.
• Conduct walkthroughs with Test Managers, Requirement Leads, Project Managers, and Development Leads.
• Perform and lead tests on software and IT systems to ensure proper operation and defect-free delivery.
• Document and communicate test results and support analysis of issues.
• Create daily test metrics and reporting.
• Occasionally perform other IT systems engineering activities as needed.
• Provide technical solutions to difficult problems and ensure alignment with objectives.
• Mentor junior testers and guide testing efforts as required.
