Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Software Developer in Test (SDET) to support the Veterans Affairs department. This 100% remote, full-time position requires strong programming skills in C#, Java, or Python and a track record delivering high-quality software.

Candidates must have 10+ years of testing experience, knowledge of SDLC/Agile, and familiarity with test automation tools and CI/CD. US citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in C#, Java, or Python.
• Proven track record on complex software projects and high-quality deliverables.
• Experience in manual and automated testing.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC.
• Proficiency in writing and executing test cases, scripts, and plans.
• Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools (Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, QTP, LoadRunner).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with Git and Subversion.
• Understanding of performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
• Experience with defect tracking (JIRA, Bugzilla).
• SQL/database knowledge for validating data.
• Testing web apps, APIs, and services.
• Security testing practices and tools.
• Experience with various testing types including UAT.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
• Mentor junior testers.
• Translate business requirements into test scenarios.
• Experience with test management tools.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices.
• Ability to conduct test reviews and provide feedback.
• Understanding of risk-based, exploratory, and context-driven testing.

Responsabilités

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and procedures to meet standards.
• Write test cases and scripts and identify data for test scenarios.
• Lead tests and IT systems to ensure proper operation and defect-free performance.
• Document and communicate test results and risks.
• Support analysis of test results and resolution of open issues.
• Create daily test metrics and reporting.
• Provide technical solutions to difficult problems and guide projects.
• Collaborate with Test Managers, Project Managers, and Development Leads.
• Mentor and guide junior testers.
• Review work to ensure objectives are met.
