Job summary

Fidelity Investments is seeking a Software Engineer in Test to join our Workplace Investing team at the Westlake, TX location. The role focuses on building robust automated tests for API, UI, and backend services and collaborating with development and DevOps to ensure quality gates.

You will design and implement REST API automation with Java and Rest Assured, UI automation with Selenium/Playwright/Cypress, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years hands-on testing experience.
• Experience testing API and UI, with automation focus.
• Strong automation experience with Selenium/Playwright/Cypress and Cucumber.
• Experience with Karate, TestNG/JUnit, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
• Strong SQL, Java, and cloud (AWS/Azure) skills.
• Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and design test strategies and cases including integration, load, and functional tests.
• Elicit requirements and capture expectations using modeling techniques.
• Design REST API automation scripts in Java with Rest Assured and reusable utilities.
• Develop UI automation for Salesforce, Angular, and Node.js apps using Selenium/WebDriver.
• Configure objects, automate business flows, and create reports and dashboards.
• Build and maintain BDD-style frameworks with Cucumber and integrate into CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop scalable automation frameworks and participate in Agile ceremonies.
• Own QA automation tasks in JIRA and ensure traceability of acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate in code reviews and optimize test infrastructure across web, API, and backend.
