Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a Scheduling Lead to coordinate front desk operations and scheduling staff across clinics. You will oversee scheduling/registration tasks prior to appointments and ensure accurate provider and patient data is captured.

The role requires knowledge of Epic, strong communication, and the ability to train staff while handling front desk support responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates analytical thinking and ability to coordinate work under schedule constraints.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and database programs.
• Ability to prioritize messages and manage multiple queues.

Responsibilities

• Leads and coordinates access center staff; monitors and reports on work queues in Epic for clinical enterprise.
• Calls and schedules referred, bumped and pending patients into clinics/specialties.
• Verifies registration and insurance information for established patients at each contact point; reviews coverage and referrals.
• Schedules appointments in the system; completes fields like visit reason, referral source, PCP, language, coverage, guarantor.
• Reviews copay amounts and outstanding balances with patients.
• Answers questions from access center staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
