Houston Methodist Hospital seeks a Senior Scheduler to manage appointment-based access to surgical and specialty services. You will coordinate complex schedules, act as a liaison among patients, facilities and providers, and ensure accurate, timely bookings in the EHR while supporting pre‑registration and insurance verification.

Qualifications include four years in a medical setting or call center with two years in scheduling, plus strong English communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in a medical setting or call center environment to include two years of medical scheduling experience.
• Must have strong communication and customer service skills; able to train and mentor staff.
• Proficient with EHR systems and mid‑level registration processes; knowledge of insurance procedures is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patients for complex services (e.g., surgery) on a routine basis.
• Acts as liaison between patient, facility, and physicians to ensure timely, accurate scheduling.
• Pre-registers patients in the EHR to facilitate pre‑certification and insurance verification.
• Provides training and mentorship to less experienced staff.
• Maintains patient demographic and insurance information in the EHR with accuracy.
