Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced SCADA and Automation Engineer – Lead Professional to support multiple office locations, with Portland OR among them. The role covers design, commissioning, and protection systems for power projects, plus leadership of project teams and data transfer schemes.

You will work with SCADA software, HMIs, and communication networks, while ensuring compliance with global standards and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• 7 to 10 years of relevant post-education experience in power generation, transmission, and distribution.
• Willingness to learn and to teach others; flexible travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, engineering, and commissioning of substations, protection and control systems.
• Develop and commission data transfer schemes and HMIs; test on project sites.
• Design network paths for RTUs, IEDs, HMIs and SCADA equipment in substations.
• Ensure compliance with IEEE, IEC, ANSI, CIGRE, and NERC standards; mentor teams.
