Job summary

WSP in the U.S. seeks an experienced SCADA and Automation Engineer – Lead Professional for our San Diego, CA office, with eligibility for other listed offices. You will lead design, testing and commissioning of power projects, including substations, protection and control, and data communications.

The role requires coordinating teams, mentoring engineers, and ensuring compliance with IEEE, IEC, ANSI, CIGRE and NERC standards, while advancing WSP’s power delivery practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• 7 to 10 years of post education experience delivering design for power generation, transmission, and distribution.
• Willingness to travel and adapt to varying schedules.
• Commitment to safety and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and approve electrical infrastructure design plans for mid‑level and complex projects.
• Prepare data transfer points lists and program data addressing.
• Design networks for RTUs, IEDs, HMIs within substations.
• Develop and Commission control schemes and test on project sites.
• Adhere to industry standards and safety regulations.
