Job summary

Huntington is seeking an SBA Eligibility Review Officer III in the Chicago area to review SBA and USDA guaranteed loans for proper structure and closing compliance. You will serve as a subject matter expert, guiding sales, underwriting, and closing teams across markets to ensure eligibility and risk controls.

You will manage an advanced pipeline up to $5 million, assess borrower and guarantor eligibility, prepare loan documentation, and communicate decisions with clarity while maintaining strict

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years SBA/USDA lending/due diligence experience or 7 years direct SBA/USDA lending/due diligence experience.
• Knowledge of SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Ability to clearly document and communicate eligibility conditions to close in accordance with SBA SOP.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task.
• Knowledge of SBA/USDA loan programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME in SBA Servicing procedures and act as a consultant on government guaranteed loan programs to sales, underwriting, and closing colleagues.
• Maintains an individual pipeline of work, with loans up to $5 million.
• Assess eligibility of borrower(s), co-borrower(s), guarantor(s) ensuring SBA guarantee can be enforced.
• Interface with SBA Sales and Operations to communicate eligibility decisions and reasoning.
• Review use of proceeds, prepare SBA Loan Authorization and other SBA forms to ensure compliance with SBA/USDA requirements.
• Review reports to confirm terms/conditions of SBA credit approvals are met.
• May advise FRG colleagues on working out, liquidating, and litigating SBA loans.
• May train and mentor new hires and support SBA ERO I & II job families.
