Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, industrial engineering, human resources, business, or related field.
• Four (4) years of full-time safety and/or risk management experience.
• Any equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and design insurance programs; work with providers to meet city needs and renew coverages.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify risks of loss from city operations and property.
• Develop and monitor a safety and occupational health plan document and budgets.
• Administer workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs; oversee third-party administrator.
• Lead safety and risk team; supervise and develop staff; assign tasks and monitor progress.
• Perform incident investigations, root cause analysis, and recurrence prevention programs.
