Job summary

Generon IGS Group in Houston seeks a hands-on Safety Leader to develop and manage Environmental, Health & Safety programs across facilities. You will work with unit managers, lead risk assessments, audits and incident investigations, and help cultivate a strong safety culture through training and ongoing oversight of PPE, lockout/tagout, and machine safety.

The role requires a BS in Safety or related, 5+ years of facility oversight, and deep knowledge of OSHA regulations, with a practical

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Facilities Management or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Leader with facility oversight.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices.
Strong understanding of machine safety, PPE, and industrial safety practices.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS programs.
Conduct facility inspections, safety audits, risk assessments.
Identify unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions.
Lead incident investigations and develop corrective actions.
Maintain OSHA logs, safety records, and training documentation.
Manage safety training including PPE, lockout/tagout, powered industrial trucks, overhead cranes, emergency response, and machine safety.
Structure a safety committee and cultivate a strong safety culture.
Evaluate chemical use, storage, labeling, SDS management, and environmental risks.
