Job summary

Engineering Systems Inc. (ESi) seeks a Safety Manager to lead the firm’s health and safety program across locations, ensuring compliance, training, audits, and incident investigations. You will support leadership and project teams, develop safety practices, and drive continuous improvement.

The role requires 7+ years in occupational health and safety, OSHA knowledge, and ability to balance client needs with business goals; travel 30–50% across the country is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive occupational health and safety experience, multi-site preferred.
• Experience advising leaders and implementing practical safety decisions.
• Experience in professional services, engineering, or construction environments preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA standards and safety policies.
• Ability to balance regulatory compliance, client requirements, and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety program across locations with leadership guidance.
• Provide safety leadership while balancing compliance, risk, and client expectations.
• Serve as primary contact for safety questions for leadership and project teams.
• Coach Site Safety Coordinators nationwide on practices and training.
• Review and develop safety practices to fit ESi needs.
• Create safety orientation and ongoing training by role and risk.
• Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance and improvements.
• Ensure OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements are met.
• Support safety committee with technical and administrative tasks.
• Review incidents and lead root-cause analysis for corrective actions.
• Develop action plans and monitor safety controls across the firm.
• Identify PPE needs and manage procurement and monitoring.
• Share outside safety experiences and best practices for program maturity.
• Build relationships with industry groups and vendors.
