Job summary

Bergelectric is seeking a Safety Manager to oversee the Work Safe. Live Safe. program across multiple sites in the region. The role involves safety leadership, audits, incident investigations, and ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, NNFA70E, EM-385 and related regulations.

The position requires travel to job sites, offices, and shops, delivering training and coordinating with operations, HR, and procurement to improve safety performance. A CSP or CHST and related credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have extensive safety leadership experience in construction.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations.
• Experience with incident investigation and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety leadership and technical assistance to operations teams and report on safety performance.
• Advise on contractual and Company safety requirements and attend safety/startup meetings.
• Prepare and review site safety plans, risk assessments, permits and other safety docs.
• Perform audits/inspections and identify hazards to ensure safe work conditions.
• Respond to incidents and safety reports from employees and other parties.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA and maintain safety logs and permits.
• Develop safety competencies and advise on improvements.
• Meet with foremen and contractors to address safety issues and take corrective actions.
• Manage relationships with client site safety personnel for future issues.
• Monitor and report on safety engagement activities and use safety systems/software.
• Coordinate training needs and provide safety training to personnel.
• Maintain required certifications.
