Job summary

Bergelectric Corp. is seeking a Safety Manager (Travel) to oversee safety performance across sites within the region and ensure full execution of the Work Safe. Live Safe. program. The role involves frequent site visits, audits, and collaboration with project teams to uphold safety standards.

The candidate should have CSP/CHST/SST-C or equivalent credentials, 5–10 years in safety/construction, and a proven ability to train and lead safety initiatives while travelling regularly.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in safety and/or construction; electrical construction preferred.
• Certified safety credentials preferred: CSP, CHST, SST-C, OSHA Outreach (30h), EM-385, NFPA 70E.
• Knowledge of fall protection, silica, confined spaces, forklift, scissor lift, trenching, scaffolding, and LOTO.
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and training skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety leadership and assistance to operations teams and report on safety performance.
• Advise on safety planning and attend safety and startup meetings.
• Prepare safety plans, risk assessments, permits, MOPs, and safety documents.
• Conduct site audits and inspections, identify hazards, ensure safe work practices.
• Investigate incidents and maintain safety logs and permits.
• Coordinate with regions and HR, training, procurement on safety needs.
• Deliver safety training and maintain required certifications.
• Frequent travel to sites.
