Job summary

Bergelectric invites applications for a Safety Manager to lead on-site safety at multiple construction sites within the region. You will drive execution of the Work Safe. Live Safe.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in safety and/or construction.
• Strong knowledge of safety rules and regulations (fall protection, silica, confined space, forklift, scissor lift, trenching, scaffolding, LO/TO).
• Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and travel frequently.
• Demonstrated expertise in safety rules and regulations including fall protection, silica, confined space, forklift, scissor lift, trenching, scaffolding, energy control/LOTO.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety leadership and technical assistance to operations teams.
• Advise on safety requirements and attend safety and startup meetings.
• Prepare and review site safety plans, risk assessments, permits, and logs.
• Visit projects for audits and inspections to ensure safe work practices.
• Respond to incidents and investigate safety reports.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
• Develop safety competencies and deliver training on-site.
• Meet with foremen, superintendents, and contractors to address safety issues.
• Manage relationships with client site safety personnel.
• Monitor safety engagement activities and report results.
• Utilize safety systems/software to track incidents, audits, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with HR, training, procurement, contracts on mutual needs.
• Oversee training needs and train-the-trainer programs.
• Maintain required safety certifications.
