Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer I with a strong background in civil and utility construction to implement Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites nationwide. You will promote a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors.

This role requires coordinating safety training, conducting audits, and supporting field activities involving underground utilities, excavation, and other civil scopes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent.
• CHST Certification or OSHA 500 with 10 years construction safety experience.
• Minimum four years of construction safety experience for civil/underground scopes.
• Current valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer safety programs at worksites and provide training.
• Document violations, conduct audits, and analyze loss data.
• Lead OSHA reporting and review subcontractor safety submittals.
• Record and analyze safety, injury, and hazard statistics.
