Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer I to implement its Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites and ensure a safe environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors.

You will lead safety programs, audits, OSHA reporting, and hazard analyses, while coordinating with client safety personnel and unions. The role requires travel up to 100% and a strong safety leadership background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field.
• CHST certification and OSHA 500 required.
• At least 10 years construction safety experience including leading safety programs.
• Current valid driver’s license.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety software.

Responsibilities

• Implement site safety programs and trainings at worksites.
• Document violations, conduct audits, and analyze loss data.
• Lead OSHA reporting and review subcontractor safety.
• Record and analyze injury and hazard statistics.
• Advise on industrial hygiene concerns and safety standards.
• Attend safety meetings and assist with incident analysis.
• Coordinate with client safety personnel, unions, and risk engineers.
• Ensure maintenance and inspection of safety equipment.
