Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer I to implement the Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites and ensure a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors to the construction work site.

The role requires leading safety program activities, audits, OSHA reporting, and hazard analysis with strong collaboration across diverse teams. Travel up to 100% is required, with competitive base pay and eligibility for Mortenson’s incentive plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent.
• Minimum four years of construction safety experience.
• Current valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety software programs.
• Detail-oriented with multitasking.

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer site safety programs and trainings.
• Document and track safety violations; conduct audits and analyze data.
• Lead OSHA reporting and monitor subcontractor activities.
• Record and analyze safety, injury, and hazard statistics.
• Provide safety information and maintain knowledge of safety standards.
• Attend safety meetings and assist with major incident analysis.
• Collaborate with client safety personnel and risk engineers.
• Ensure maintenance and inspection of safety equipment.
