Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer I to implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites and ensure a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors to the construction work site.

The role will lead site safety programs, audits, and OSHA reporting, while coordinating with client safety personnel, unions, and risk engineers. Travel up to 100% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent.
• Minimum four years of construction safety experience.
• Current valid driver’s license.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple project tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety software.

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer safety programs at worksites and provide training.
• Document and track safety violations and conduct audits.
• Lead OSHA reporting and review subcontractor activities.
• Record and analyze safety, injury, and hazard statistics.
• Provide safety information and address industrial hygiene concerns.
• Attend safety meetings and assist with incident analysis.
• Coordinate with client safety personnel, unions, and risk engineers.
• Maintain safety equipment and build relationships across teams.
